How is this crazy and wild weather on the Coast?? Tornados, flooding, strong winds… I hope everyone is staying indoors and is well and safe!
The wet and wild weather this Australia day long weekend has kept us indoors, so I thought I would take the opportunity to sit down and write a blog post and catch up on some work. Im not a great writer and a rarely blog any more than a few paragraphs, but I have a lot of news to share today!!
Firstly as you know my blog and website have been very neglected over the past few months, We had a very busy year in 2012 and I have so many beautiful portraits I would love to share with you! Over the next few months, when the kiddies are go back to school I will be posting some of these very special sessions. I can’t wait to show you what I have been up too!
As some of you already know we welcomed a beautiful little girl into the world just before Christmas. We have been on Maternity leave from December and we will be taking bookings from March 2013. I would like to thank so many people for being so patient and allowing me to bond with my new princess as well as spend some time with my two boys over the school holidays.
Here are some photographs of our special little princess Taya Jade. She was born on the 19th of December weighing 7lbs 6oz and we’re all in love, especially the boys!! I photographed her when she was just 6 days old and photographing your own baby is not as easy as it looks!
Can I just say, even though my business has been put on hold for a few months, I cant begin to tell you how much I have learnt on this journey. I have two boys and I work with newborns every week, so I thought I was very experienced with newborn babies, and knew it all! I can’t believe how much I have learnt! The experience has been invaluable to my business and my pregnancy and the birth of Taya has taught me so much that I had simply forgotten. I now remember how all of you parents feel in those first few weeks after giving birth and how hard it is to leave the house and get organised for a photo shoot, the midwifes in hospital also shared some amazing tips and settling techniques with me giving me a better understanding of newborns.
Another huge learning curve I experienced was being on the other side of the camera. Matt and I had the opportunity to go to Brisbane and have professional family photos taken by the amazing Kelly Brown when Taya was only 8 days old. It’s an amazing experience having your baby photographed, I was so inspired and grateful that I am apart of this amazing industry photographing newborn babies! Thanks again Kelly!
Keep following my website and facebook page over the next few months, I have lots to share!
Take care in this weather!
